Faith Stepping Stones...SML
Faith Stepping Stones is a family ministry program that recognizes critical faith development stages in a child's life. It provides faith-based education from baptism to graduation through a series of faith stepping stones. At these critical stages, we, as the body of Christ, come alongside parents to offer teaching, support and encouragement for them and their children
This stepping stone is a two-week course that focuses on what worship is, how we do worship, explore a worship service and participate in it, create a banner and more. Classes will be held on Jan 31 and Feb 7, 2024 @ 6:30pm and the children will help assist in worship on Feb 11, 2024
This Stepping stone is a two-week course that actually helps children and parents learn different ways you can pray, some fun ideas to help suggest things to pray about, and to share about how prayer is a powerful way to talk with God. Classes will be August 11 and 18, 2024 @ 11:30am. Blessing at Worship on August 25, 2024.
This stepping stone is a three-week course that helps children learn how Bible basic such understanding books, chapters and verses and how to look them up and will also help them feel comfortable actually using a Bible for reading, devotion and study. Those who complete this course will receive a new Bible that will have highlighted scriptures from every book of the Bible. This stepping may have a small fee. Classes will be at 11:30am on September 24, October 1 and October 8. Blessing and Receiving of Bibles on October 22 at worship.
First Communion (Grades 3+)
THIS TWO-WEEK COURSE HELPS CHILDREN UNDERSTAND WHAT HOLY COMMUNION IS ALL ABOUT AND WHY IT IS SIGNIFICANT WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT . IT WILL ALSO REVIEW THE HOLY COMMUNION WORSHIP AND HELP THE STUDENTS UNDERSTAND IT’S DIFFERENT PARTS AND HOW IT ALL WORKS, INCLUDING TASTE OF THE BREAD AND WINE/JUICE. THERE IS EVEN AN OPTION TO MAKE COMMUNION BREAD. THOSE WHO COMPLETE THIS COURSE CAN PARTICIPATE IN OUR SPECIAL FIRST COMMUNION WORSHIP EVENT. THE CLASSES WOULD BE MARCH 13 AND 20, 2024 AT 5:15PM AND FIRST COMMUNION ON MARCH 28 AT 6:30PM
This Stepping Stone is designed to help older children and their parents live out their baptismal promises in everyday life In a fun half day event that includes service, sharing, playing with water and more. Event will be June 8, 2024 @ 11am to 2:30pm with a Blessing at Worship on June 9, 2024
seasons and colors of the Church Year (Grade 1+)
This one week course introduces children and parents to what the colors in the church are all about and what are the Seasons of the Church and why they can help us to better understand and connect with the life of Jesus and Jesus himself. This course will be held Sun. Dec. 3, 2023 @ 11:30am
ADDITIONAL STONES- Confirmation (a two-year faith learning program for 7th grade and older that concludes with the Rite of Confirmation
- Graduation ( a special recognition and blessing at worship for those graduating from High School or College
